Dear Mr. Keppler:
This letter is to confirm the telephone conversation between Messrs. Castresana and Warnock of our organization and Mr. R. Greger of your Staff on October 29, 1981 concerning the delay experienced in meeting our commitment to install shielded frisker stations in selected areas of the D. C. Cook Nuclear Plant.
Our commitment was included in our letter to you of July 30, 1981, AEP:hTC:0579.
In our response to the Health Physics Appraisal, we indicated that the shielded frisker stations would be installed 90 days from the date of delivery of additional "frisker" instruments at the Plant.
This commitment was to have been met at the end of October 1981.
The delay was due to initially unforeseen delays in the processing l
of a capital improvement requisition for the shielded enclosures which l
had not previously been budgeted.
Approval has been received and a
}
purchase requisition initiated. Delivery is expected within nine weeks l
of receipt of order by the vendor.
Partial shipments of complete enclosures by the vendor will take place to expedite the installation schedule.
It is expected that the installation of additional shielded stations will be completed by January 31, 1982.
Should we suffer any further delay, we will promptly bring it to your attention.
