This letter is submitted in response to your letter of November 12, 1981, requesting the schedule for submittal of the Decontamination Experiment
" Safety and Radiological Evaluation" and " Procedure" Documents. As noted in your letter, these docunents were not submitted on the originally anticipated schedule, but have been submitted for NRC review and approval on the following dates:
Document Submittal-Date Scope October 30, 1981 Safety and Radiological Evaluation, Rev 0 November 18, 1981 Procedure November 24, 1981 (Draft, Rev 1)
A meeting was held with you and your staff on November 25, 1981 to review the subject documents and resolve any concerns. At that meeting, you indicated that the Scope Document was satisfactory and would not require any revision. The Safety and Radiological Evaluation was the subject of the majority of the discussion at the November 25, 1981 meeting. GPU is in the process of revising this document to resolve NRC concerns expressed at th t meeting.
Subsequent to the discussion regarding the Scope and Safety Evaluation Documents. L. H. Barrett, with his staff, reviewed the Procedure Document with GPU. A revision to the Procedure Document is also being prepared to resolve the concerns expressed by Mr. Barrett and-his staff.

It is anticipated that the revisions to the Safety and Radiological Evaluation 5
and Procedure Documents will be submitted in the immediate future, certainly no later than December 18, 1981.
