]F' DOCKET 50-155 - LICENSE DPR BIG ROCK POINT PLANT - ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION OF SAFETY-RELATED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT Consumers Power Company, by letter dated September 3, 1981, responded to a 90-day NRC Safety Evaluation Report request concerning our Environmental Qualifi-cation of Safety-Related Electrical Equipment Report.

The September 3, 1981' letter included the following two commitments as follow-up to the submittal:

1.

By approximately January 5, 1981, submittal pages will be revised to reply to all questions contained in Section 4 of the TER except for questions relating to aging and to equipment that is being replaced. The Qualifica-tion Report will also be revised to reflect equipment that has been replaced and new equipment being installed because of the TMI Action Plan.

Further details will be supplied on our Preventive Maintenance and Inspection Programs to add-ess aging.

2.

By approximately April 5, 1982, an additional submittal will address the aging problem in detail. Equipment will be further analyzed to identify critical materials susceptible to aging and the resultant Preventive Maintenance and Inspection Programs will be described.

A schedule of further actions on equipment qualification will be presented including expected dates for installation of equipment and for carrying out the Preventive and Maintenance and Inspection Programs.

Additional time is requested to complete these commitments. Details concern-ing the status of replacement commitments, surveillance program status, IE equipment additions and modifications in the 1982 refueling outage and incor-0%

J poration of our qualification program with results from the Probabilistic Risk Assessment necessitate considerable coordination with refueling outage sched-j uling.

Final package assimilation can be performed within a couple of weeks
