DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - ADDITIONAL RESPONSE TO IE BULLETIN 81-01, SURVEILLANCE OF MECHANICAL SNUBBERS IE Bulletin 81-01 requires that mechanical snubbers other than those supplied by International Nuclear Safeguards Corporation (INC) be scheduled and tested on an l
inspection program and that the results of the inspection te reported within 30 l
days after the inspection has been completed. Consumers Power Company submittal dated March 19, 1981 stated that at Palisades, seven (T) mechanical snubbers, not manufactured by INC are located on safety related piping and that testing would be completed during the 1981 refueling outage. As per that commitment, all seven safety related mechanical snubbers (manufactured by Pacific Scientific) were inspected per Technical Specification Surveillance Procedure RM-73 for visually observable damage and freedom of movement in both tension and compression. All seven mechanical snubbers met the acceptance criteria for operability and had no corrective actions assigned. This letter satisfies the requirements of IE Bulletin 81-01 and the commitments of Consumers Power Company submittal dated March 19, 1981.
