TERMINATION OF LICENSE SNM-1679 Region JBlayloc RErickson I.
Background
JRobertson SNM-1679 was scheduled to expire on October 31, 1981. By letter dated October 27, 1981, ENC requested that the subject license be terminated and that SNM in the facility be licensed under SNM-1227.
II. Conclusion and Recommendation The enriched uranium remaining in the facility, estimated by ENC at less than 50 grams U-235, is in the form of contamination in the ventilation ductwork. The health and safety organization and programs for activities authorized under SNM-1227 are adequate to assure safety of the residual material in CTF.
It is recormlended that SNM-1227 be amended to authorize possession of 50 grams U-235 in the CTF and that SNM-1679 be terminated.
