Dear Mr. Keppler:
This. is Detroit Edison's final report on the terminations to receptacle on G.E. panels (Relay Rocxn). The problem was initially reported by Detroit Edison's Mr. H.A. Walker, Supervisor-Construction Quality Assurance, to Mr.
P.A. Barrett of NRC-Region III during an NRC on-site inspection.
It had been noted at that tine that a. number of wire connections to the terminations on the receptacles of scme G.E. supplied panels in the Enrico Fermi 2 Control Rocm appeared to be-loose. Subsequent intactigation re--
vealed that this problem also exists in G.E. supplied panels in the Fermi 2 relay rocm.
In'the relay rocxu the investigation showed that pin crimping failure had occurred only in isolated cases, and was not as widespread as was the sit-uation in.the control rocm.
In the relay rocxn, wherever this pin crimp failure has been discovered, the problem has been rectified by replacing the old pin by the new pin.
