NOTICE OF VIOLATION Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation License No. 04-05664-02E 464 Ellis Street

' Mountain View, California 94042 As a result of the inspection conducted on flovember 10, 1981, and in accordance with the. Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754
-(October.7,1980), = the following violations were identified:
A.
10 CFR 32.25(c) requires that an annual report stating the total quantity of each isotope transferred to persons exempt pursuant to 10 CFR 30.19 in the. year ending June 30, be submitted to the Director of Nuclear flaterial Safety and Safeguards,
'U. S. f uclear Regulatory Commission.
Contrary to the above requirement, at the time of the inspection, the annual report had not been' submitted for'the years 1980 and 1981.
This is a Severity Level V Violation (Supplement VII).
B.
License Condition SD states that the licensee shall maintain records of the results of prototype testing, including the model numbers of the watch, watchcase, and watch module; the date of the test; the name and signature of the individual who certified the test results; the actual test data; and the' instrument'used to evaluate tritium levels ~in the water baths.
Contrary to the above-requirement, at the time of the inspection, records of the results of prototype tests were not maintained for tests performed since 1977.
This is a Severity Level V Violation (Supplement VII).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation is hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this' flotice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) the corrective steps which have been~taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be' taken to avoid further items of noncompliance; and (3) the date when full-compliance will be achieved.- Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown.
