In response to the October 21, 1981 letter (Log No. 1-561) from James G.
Keppler, Toledo Edison is notifying you of the date for the Annual Station Emergency Exercise for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1.

We have scheduled the 1981 exercise for Monday, December 14, 1981. This i
will be an unannounced exercise involving only Toledo Edison and the local public officials in Ottawa County.
Since Toledo Edison completed a full scale exercise under NUREG-0654 on November 6, 1980, it is not our intention to have an exercise of that magnitude this year.
In order that we maintain as much realism as possible with our exercise scenario, we request that you not make any public announcement of our scheduled date.
Ten copies of the basic scenario will be submitted to you by November 18, 1981 followed by a detailed package on November 23, 1981.
