Dear Mr. Palladino:
According to recent newspaper articles and radio
.; tories, a Nuclear Regulatory Commission panel will be holding hearings to examine safety at Indian Point.
From discussions with colleagues and associates, I have learned that the commission has not yet announced where these hearings will be held.
No city is closer to Indian Point than Peekskill.
It is essential,'therefore, that Peekskill residents have re-latively easy access to such proceedings.
I am requesting that you schedule meetings of the panel as close to the City of Peekskill as possible.
I look forward to hearing from you on this matter.
