Dear Sir:
As president of the Environmental Planning Lobby of the State of New York, a statewide organization working for legislation which will improve our environment, I write to urge that the anproval of the petition of the Citizens Committee of the Protection of the Environment for a show cause order why the operating licenses for Indian Point No. 1 and 2 and the construction pernit for No. 3 should not be revoked.
The Environmental Planning Lobby has worked hard and long for state legislation to improve the quality of land, air and water in New York State.
As a New York State group interested in the environment, we feel that there has not been an adequate environmental assessment of the impact of operating or constructing nuclear generating plants at Indian Point.
The recent disclosed findings of New York State geologist, Dr. James F.
Davis emphasizes this point.
Accordingly, we strongly support the petition of the Citizens Committee for the Protection of the Environment.
