It has come to our attention that your GC transpcrtation activities may nce be conducted in accordance witn 10 CFR Part 71.
Paragrapn 71.12(b) of 10 CFR Part 71 (ccpy enclosed) recuires among other things that you register with i:RC prior to first snipment by certificate number for each
- ackage design you intend to use and have a copy of the package approval, Pav:ings, and all references referred to in the certificate. Also, as a condition to the general license of 10 CFR E71.12, you cust have an i3C ap: roved Quality Assurance Program in accordance with 10 CFR 171.51.
Enciosed is a sample QA plan for Industrial Radiography Licensees that che staff has found acceptable.
The above recuirements apply to all shipments of radioactive material in excass cf a Type A quantities (20 Ci in the form of sealed sources).
