0FFICE or M L't AFFA!RS NEWS sur.XARY DECEEER 10,1980 DAY, RIDGE, TN--The NRC is ccasidering a proposal which would pemit the use of slightly radioactive scrap metal in a tariety of conr.:..ar products.
The scrap has been recovered fecm the gaseous dif fusion plants at Oak Rid, and Paducah, sentucky, and currently is stored at the two sites.
"Antinuclear groups" believe tFat approval of the proposal would N tne first step toward "deregulatisc" of low level radioactive wastes.
