Dear Mr. Mason:
This letter is in response to your recent telephone request to Mr. E. C. Bailey regarding our estimate of U-235 withdrawals and returns during calendar year 1965.
During calendar year 1%5 we estimate that we vill require the withdrawal of about 230 kilograms of U-235 in the last quarter.
Our operating experience with our Dresden reactor could cause us to require this material at an earlier date or possibly defer it into calendar year 1%6.
The U-235 l
enrichment has not been determined; however, it is likely that it will fall between 2 to 2 M.
Because fuel reprocessing f acilities are not as yet available, we do not expect to return any U-235 to the A.E.C.
during the calendar year 1965 recovered by chemically reprocess-l ing Dresden fuel.
