Rayburn Building g i i Q Q Washington, D.C. .I -~ Dear Sir ~ I have received =any statements from you in the past telling of what you have voted for or against and the stand you have taken of certain issues. These are read and questionaires are answered and returned. But not =uch changes for the good and more things arise al=oct daily that are, to say the least, most alarming. We seem to be asleep.......does anyone really care............. Lake Erie is dying, so=e say it has, the Cuyahoga River is a fire hazard, as pointed out in the National Geographic Magazine. And yet a nuclear power station is being alowed to be built. 'So sure are they of their case, that they went right ahead with construction, in the face of a law suit. As the attached article states, if the l coalition of so=e 80,000 persons had not begun its intervention, ~; their participation would have been eliminated. In other words, "The Public Be Da ned".....just as long as they keep paying the taxes and don't get things too stirred up, things will be okay. Wake upil' There is a big world out there, that one day will rise up, but i'm afraid it will be too late. The papers are filled with daily reports ( as I have attached) on terrible things and yet no one gets too excited about any of them, except if it happens on their block. All the average citizen has is his representatives in government and in this case that is YOU1 I know where you stand on most things, but how successful are you in getting you constituents to agree with you and vote accordingly?????????? And there lies the whole point of the letter. Mrs. Ronald Handy w ,["7 Cde rxu-A& ..Mi ondl
