During the review process of the Wolf Creek Base Mat Reanalysis (Reference 1) the Commission requested information on the verification of computer codes used in the reanalysis that were neither referenced in the SNUPPS PSAR (Reference 2) or in BC-TOP-5a (Reference 3).

In accordance with 10CFR2.790(a)(4) and 10CFR2.790(b)(1) we request that this information be maintained as proprietary to the Bechtel Powcr Corpora-tion. The basis for this request is that these specific programs and associated documentation were develol.ed by the Bechtel Power Corporation solely for its use on Bechtel projects. Thousands of Bechtel manhours were expended in this development effort. The documents represent a substantial investment in valuable tools used by the corporation to maintain its competitive position in an area of one of its major endeavors.
Bechtel considers these materials to be trade secrets as is true with all Bechtel-developed computer program materials.
In addition to the above request, we ask to be immediately notified of requests by third parties for all or any portion of the materials which are hereby submitted. Further, thesc materials are submitted upon the condition that the NRC determine them to be " proprietary" and not subject to disclosure within the meaning of 10CFR2.790.
