February 3, 2020 Mr. Sean Oehlbert Policy Director Office of Nonproliferation and Arms Control National Nuclear Security Administration U.S. Department of Energy 1000 Independence Avenue, S.W.
Washington, DC 20585
Dear Mr. Oehlbert:
Enclosed is an application dated January 13, 2020, from Mirion Technologies (IST)
Corporation requesting amendment No. 01 to its export license XCOM1328. This license presently authorizes the export of one wide range fission chamber to the NRG Petten High Flux Reactor in The Netherlands for measurement of thermal neutron radiation.
The purpose of the amendment is to increase the quantity of export from one wide range fission chamber to a quantity of 2.
We understand that the Executive Branch has accepted the generic assurances provided for similar exports of research reactor components to the Netherlands. Therefore, the NRC intends to issue the requested license amendment after the 30-day time allotted for public review as expired, and it is determined that applicable export license criteria are met.
Please note that the dollar amount on page one of the NRC Form 7 is proprietary information.
The NRC will not include this information in the public record and requests that the Executive Branch agencies protect it as well.
Sincerely, 2/3/2020 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs cc w/enclosures:
