10 CFR 50.54 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM CHANGE REVIEW

References:

Letter dated March 3,1993, from Mr. G. J. Beck to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission transmitting a proposed reduction in commitment to the Quality Assurance Program Description incorporated in the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Units 2 and 3 We received your 10 CFR 50.54(a) submittal, referenced above, transmitting a proposed reduction in commitment to the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) incorporated in the Updafd Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Mtation (PBAPS) Units 2 and 3. However, based on our current review schedul t, it recaired n ore than 60 days to complete our review.

The Regan I staff has reviewed this submittal in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(a) and determined ihat the proposed changes to the PBAPS Quality Assurance Program Description records storage :ommitments are acceptable in that: (1) the Quality Assurance Program continues to satisfy the criteria of Appendix B of 10 CFR Part 50; and (2) this change will make the re;ords storage commitments for PBAPS consistent with records storage commitmrats for your Limerick Generating Station.

If thero are changes to other operative QA commitments existing in docketed correspondence outside of the QA program description, you are obligated to notify this office. Implementing such ;hanges should be based on 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3). The effectiveness of your Quality Asstrance Program and procedure implementation will continue to be the subject of routine resonal inspections.
