Dear Mr. Selin,

The thought that the proposed uranium enrichment plant to be built near two low-income communities in Louisiana will produce roughly 4,000 tons of uranium-238 waste annually is distressing indeed. Knowing that U-238 remains hazardous for a couple of million years makes such a proposal genuinely outrageous.

In light of the above, I urge you to advise the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to deny Louisiana Energy Services application to construct a uranium enrichment facility in Homer, Louisiana. I am strongly supportive of the local communities of Forest Grove and Center Springs-who are resolutely opposed to having the LES plant in their backyard.

Please look into this matter and consider the issue of environmental racism which may be involved in the decision to locate the plant near two small black communities. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
