Letter from G. R. Horn (NPPD) to USNRC Document Control Desk dated April 23,1993, " Exigent Amendment Request, Proposed Change No. 118 to Technical Specifications, Removal of Requirements Acsociated with the ECCS Area Coolers" Gentlemen:
In the reference, the Nebraska Public Power District (District) requested a change to the Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) Technical Specifications that was classified as exigent in nature. The District had determined that the proposed Technical Specification changes were required to be implemented prior to the performance of the ASME Class I pressure testing, scheduled during the present CNS refueling outage. The District requested NRC approval of the exigent change prior to May 10, 1993, which was the scheduled date for performance of the pressure testing at the time the reference was submitted.
Since the submittal of the referenced exigent amendment request, the scheduled date for performance of the ASME Class 1 pressure test has been modified.
The ASME Class I pressure test is now scheduled to take place on May 22, 1993.
Accordingly, approval of the exigent amendment request transmitted by the reference is now requested by May 22, 1993, instead of May 10, 1993, as given in the reference, to support this pressure testing during our present refueling outage.
