ADVANCED B0ILING WATER REACTOR (ABWR) PROPRIETARY INFORMATION My staff has reviewed your letter of April 9,1993, provided in response to our preliminary evaluation of information in the ABWR standard safety analysis report (SSAR) which had been classified as proprietary information by GE Huclear Energy. We acknowledge the fact that for several of the items discussed in your letter, some delay will occur in your final response.
This is due to the need to obtain additional information and to reestablish or reconfirm agreements regarding the control of Japanese design information referenced or included in the SSAR.
The request of an additional 60 days is justifiable and acceptable to the staff.
Accordingly, we will expect your final response regarding ABWR proprietary information by June 9, 1993.
In the meantime, we will continue dialogue with your staff to monitor the status of the reclassification effort.
