BORATED WATER STORAGE iANK - ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE, UNIT 1 (TAC NO. M79792)
The NRC staff, using appropriate provisions of the Standard Review Plan, has completed its review of the licensee's confirmatory analysis of the flexibility of the borated water storage tank (BWST).
Based on the review of the confirmatory analysis and the additional information provided by the licensee, the staff concludes that the design of the BWST is adequate to withstand the postulated safe-shutdown earthquake loading.
The staff will require that the condition of the tank-be inspected after a seismic event that exceeds the operating-basis earthquake.
This completes our evaluation of the BWST seismic qualification issue.
