Dear Ms. Wright:

I attach for your kind consideration an application to export uranitrn as uranium hexafluoride to ELRATOM for storage and/or use as reload fuel in light-water power reactors in EURATOM and the United States.

We are in the position of urgently needing to export a quantity of approximately 6fD Kg U235 to the U.K.; this shipment is schecxJ1cd for mid-May 1993.

We forsee the need to export similar shipments to ELRATOM countries over the next several years.

Based _ on this need and the significant. cost of NRC export license fees, we want to be covered for other urgent cases which may arise. For this reason, we request export approval for 250,000 Kg uranium at equal to or less than 5% enrichment with 12,500 Kg U235.

In compliance with the final rule ptblished in the JJ1y 23, 1992 Federal Register, please find enclosed the application fee of $3,100.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any additional information in connection with this request.
