April 5-8,1993, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. DPR-66 and NPF-73 at the

Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 & 2, Shippingport, Pennsyh2nia and to the discussion '
of our findings held by Ms. Peluso with Mr. D. Spoerry and other members of your staff at
i
the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection, involving your Radiological Environmental
'
Monitoring Program, are important to public health and safety and are described in the NRC
j
Region I Inspection Report that is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
i
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel, and independent observations by the inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, we noted that you continued to maintain a very good

Radiological Environmental Monitoring Program. We noted that the responsible individuals
!
were qualified and knowledgeable with respect to implementation of the above program. No
safety concems or violations of regulatory requirements were identified.
