STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFIrfG ON STATUS OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION IMPm VEMENT PROGRAM (SECY-93-067), 10:00 A.M., TUESDAY, MARCH 30, 1993, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE) The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on the status of the technical specification improvement program. The Commission was provided estimates on the utility costs to implement the new standard technical specifications (STS). As more data become { available, the staff should provide the Commission an updated estimate of the utility cost. (EDO) (SECY Suspense: 8/27/93) The staff acknowledged that the initiative to examine shutdown risks and shutdown technical specifications would be considered in parallel with the implementation of the STS. The Commission also requested further information on the NRC resources required for this program in the out-years which the staff is expected to provide in a paper currently under development.
