WITHDRAWAL OF FNMC PLAN AND SG-2 AMENDMENT (TAC NO. L30302)

This is in response to a UNC Naval Products letter dated February 1992 (and signed by Mr. Thomas Collopy) in which UNC requested the withdrawal of its Fundamental Nuclear Material Control (FNMC) Plan and license conditions contained in the Safeguards Amendment (SG-2) to your license SNM-368.

1 Inasmuch as your current license limits the possession of SNM to residual SNM present as contamination or as waste generated from decommissioning activities, the need for an FNMC Plan no longer exists. Additionally, since UNC's Physical Security Plan was previously withdrawn by a Nuclear Regulatory Commission letter dated June 10, 1992 (signed by Mr. Theodore Sherr), it is no longer necessary to maintain Amendment SG-2.

Accordingly, Amendment SG-2 to License SNM-368 is hereby withdrawn, effective immediately. Since your FNMC Plan had been incorporated as a condition of license by SG-2, the withdrawal of SG-2 includes the withdrawal of the FNMC Plan.
