SUBJECT: COMBINED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-352/93-08 AND 50-353/93-08
'
This letter transmits the results of the Maintenance Inspection by Messrs. N. Perry,
W. Baunack, M. Buckley, T. Easlick and T. Kenny, from February 22 - 26,1993, at the
Limerick Generating Station, Limerick, Pennsylvania. The inspection focused on the -
observation of activities important to ensuring the public health and safety. Reviews of
documents and interviews of plant personnel were also performed.

In general, activities were found to be conducted safely. Programs for the control of
maintenance activities were found adequate, and weaknesses identified are being properly
addressed. In particular, the controls for planned, preventive maintenance on systems
requiring entry into an LCO, were found to be commensurate with NRC guidance. We will
continue to monitor these maintentcc activities to ensure that they result in improved safety.
Results of the inspection are described in the enclosed report and were discussed witn Mr. D.
Helwig, and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and
its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
