RADIATION LEVELS AND SAMPLE RESULTS AT

-l ON-AND OFF-SITE MONIl0nING STATIONS.

}

The data below are from sample and dosimeter results accumulated during 1992.

-i Except for the GETR stack data, these data are for the entire VNC site and

.{

include the effects of operations other than the GETR.

5 i

A.

GETR Stack I

Total airborne releases (stack emissions) for 1992 are as follows.

t Alpha Particulate, < 0.174 pCi (predominantly radon-thoron daughter products) l Beta-Gamma Particulate, < 1.18 pCi i

B.

Air Monitors (Yearly average of all meteorological stations. )

.)

Four environmental air monitoring stations are positioned approximately l

90 degrees apart around the operating facilities of the site.

Each l'

station is equipped with a membrane filter which is changed weekly and analyzed for gross alpha and gross beta-gamma.

Alpha Concentration:

-15

'l Maximum

< 6.6 x 10 pCi/cc (predominantly radon-thoron

~'

daughter products) i

-15 Average

< 2.2 x 10 pCi/cc Beta Concentration:

p t

-14 Maximum

< 3.2 x 10 pCi/cc

-14

< 1.7 x 10 pCi/cc Average i

?

C.

Gamma Radiation TLD dosimeter readings for the year 1992 at the site perimeter were within acceptable limits.

5 D.

Vegetation No alpha, beta or gamma activity attributable to activities at the GETR facility was found on or in vegetation in the vicinity of the site.

E.

Off-Site Samples taken off the site indicate normal background for the area.
