Interpretation of GDC-17 DATE: April, 7, 1993 PLACE: Room No. 6B13 White Flint Building US NRC TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION: Presentation by the IEEE Working Group on the results of survey performed on the preferred power supply design of Select Nuclear Power Plants. Presentation by NRC on clarification given to licensees / applicants regarding interpretation of GDC-17: - Pre 10 CFR 50 Appendix A licensed plants - Post 10 CFR 50 Appendix A licensed plants - Proposed ALWR/ELWR plants; ABWR, CE80 - Proposed Passive plants; AP-600, SBWR, Pius Clarification on " loss of all onsite ac power sources" with regards to GDC-17. To quantify the time period during which a licensee / applicant should i enable a delayed access source. NUMARC guidelines on station blackout (SBO) coping analyses with f respect to independence of preferred power supply. Does it apply to the delayed access source within the context of GDC-17. Sizing criteria for delayed access _ power source. LOCA loads of one i train only or LOCA loads of two trains. Generator MOD switch. Open discussion Summation and Conclusions. h
