INPUT FOR THE COMMISSION PAPER ON THE REGULATORY TREATMENT ~
OF NONSAFETY SYSTEMS IN PASSIVE' DESIGNS In my memorandum to William T. Russell dated January 28, 1993, I.' requested that input for the Commission paper on the regulatory treatment of nonsafety systems (RTNSS) in passive designs be received by February 12, 1993. However, by letter dated February 23, 1993, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) submitted a proposed process for the RTNSS in passive designs.
Please review the input provided or being prepared by your' staff to ensure that the February 23,.1993, EPRI submittal has been considered.
In addition, all policy issues should be resolved'with the' final staff positions identified so that the Commission can make a decision.
Please provide the revised input for the RTNSS Commission paper by March 15. 1993.
Projects is scheduled to brief Dr.' Murley on April 6,1993, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in room 12Bil on this Commission paper. Please plan to attend and
