RESEARCH REACTOR This letter confirms the Nuclear Regulatory Commission concurrence for startup of the Ohio State University Research Reactor as discussed with your Associate Director, Richard Myser, in a telephone conversation with James W.
McCormick-Barger, Chief, Emergency Preparedness and Non-Power Reactor Section, NRC Region III, on March 11, 1993.
Richard Myser's letter of March 11, 1993, identified the actions you have taken to correct the immediate problem of the shim safety rod reliability.
The letter also addressed your proposed long term corrective actions. The NRC s
will follow up your actions in a future inspection.
