./_

I In light of the recent intrusion at the Three Mile. Island Nuclear I

Power Plant.and the apparent bomb event in New York City,-the i

The Commission-requests that the staff prepare an analysis on the adequacy of the current regulatory requirements to protect licensed nuclear

The analysis 1

should include an assessment of the threat posed by vehicular l

bombs'and'a recommendation on what step,.if any, should be-taken f,

to address'such threat.

In the course of its work, the staff should take into account the findings and recommendations-~of the forthcoming Incident Investigation Team report on the;TMI

{

incident and other Intelligence Community input.

The NRC staff j

should prepare recommendations for changes to NRC's regulatory l

requirements, if the staff believes that such changes are 1
