I Gentlemen:
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91(b) the State of Maine has reviewed the proposed amendment modifying the normal operating position of the LPSI motor operated valves from closed to open.
Because this configuration slightly decreases the chances of a core melt

accident, the State has no objections to the proposed change.
