Subiect:
PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $50,000 This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of $50,000 will be issued on or about February 18, 1993 to Tennessee Valley Authority.
This action is based on a Severity Level III problem for multip]e incidents involving the failure to adequately protect Safeguards Information.
The adjustment factors in.the Enforcement Policy were considered and the base amount of the civil penalty was mitigated for licensee-identification and past performance ; and escalated for multiple violations, i
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically ii ' ormed of the enforcement action.
The schedule of issuance and notification is:
Mailing of Notice February 18, 1993 Telephone Notification of Licensee February 18, 1993 The State of Tennessee will be notified.
The licensee has thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
Following NRC evaluation of the response,-the civil y
penalty may be remitted, mitigated, or imposed by Order.
