Dear Ms. Bennington:
p i
1 would like to formally request the performance of a route survey from the Nuclear Engineering Lab located on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames. Iowa to DOE's Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. We currently working with DOE to identify a shipping date for our high enriched uranium (HEU) fuel. For reasons of safety and security, our fuel should be shipped when the student population on campus is at or near its minimum. The first of these pedods occurs between May 17,1993 and June 14,1993 (break between the spring and summer semesters). The next period which would be ideal for fuel shipment exists between August 9,1993 and August 23,1993 (break between the summer and fall semesters). If these two periods are not acceptable, it would be possible to ship on any day between May 17,1993 and August 23,1993.
Any questions that you or your staff may have can be directed to me at (515)-294-0539.
Sincerely, w $fY 4 ohn T. Adams Mf UTR-10 Reactor Me. nager I
