THE NRC BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROGRAM i
1 As noted in. the recent - announcement (No. 21, dated February 9,
j 1990) from Chairman Carr, the month of February has been designated Black History Month. The announcement goes on.to indicate that the purpose of-Black ~ History Month is to acknowledge.
the accomplishments of Black Americans and their contributions to the overall progress and development of our nation and to build good will and understanding between all people regardless of race, color,= religion, sex, or national origin.
In keeping with the spirit of Black History Month, I strongly encourage all Division staff to attend the NRC Black History Month Program - that is to be held at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza on February 21, 1990 (see attachment'for details).
For transportation to and from-Crowne Plaza the Metro subway may' be used, with Fare Cards provided free of charge by NRC.
The Fare Cards can be obtained from Bella Carter and Dawn toss.
Further information on the Black History Month Program is available from Mike Tokar, who was recently elected Vice Chairperson of the Advisory Committee-for Affirmative Action, which is one of, the = NRC EEO groups supporting the program.
