FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE,' MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE).

The Commission was briefed by the staff on the useyof economic incentives by public utility Commissions based on various performance criterion which are applied to nuclear power plants licensed by the NRC.

The Commission requested the staff to keep informed of' actions being taken by Public. Utility Commissions and:be prepared to exercise whatever options may be necessary to ensure'that.

economic incentive programs applied to. civilian nuclear power plants do not adversely affect public health.and safety.

Because of the Commission's concern in this area there was some discussion about the Commission issuing a policy statement on state economic incentive regulations, cc:
