Monitorina Proceduren 1.
Monitor should remain on 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> a day.

Monitor should be placed on a stable platform, as close to-a window as possible.
The monitor should be in a verticle position with the back side facing outdoors'(most sensitive side); the readout side facing inside.-
Keep monitor back from window if it is raining.
Water will ruin _the unit._ Keep monitor out of direct sunlight.
If the monitor is hot, it will give falso readings.

Weekly Reports:
Reporting-period begins Sunday A.M.,
concludes Saturday P.M.
Any local weather data is valuable.
Completed forms should be mailed Sunday or Monday tot j

If'you can find a substitute to fill in for you, it would be' helpful.
Please initial each day in the dato column.

Timing:
Each correspondent will be issued a quartz timer.
This will make all correspondences accurate on-timing.
5.
Timing Periods:
Two 30 minute, or longer,-periods, A.M.
and P.M.
preferably.
If pressed for time, a 15 minute period is okay.
Try to do this randomly.
6.
Monitor Setting for Extended Periods:
Set on TOTAL COUNTS and MUTE.
Record intervals on standard reporting form.
7.
After extended counts are completed, set monitor switches to COUNTS PER MINUTE and ALERT until next extended count period.
Upon retiring, monitors should be near a-bedroom window set for COUNTS PER MINUTE and ALERT.
When away from home, set monitor for extended count (see #6).

the monitor can be taken to the place of business furnishing the network with an additional station.

ALERT:
If the alarm should sound (all monitors will be set to alert at'3x's background radiation) take note of readoub.
The odd solar flare will alarm for less than 1 minute and thus is of no consequence.

If you are following the above precedures for monitoring, you should be concerned to rnake the calls.

All monitors will be called in quarterly to be checked and calibrated for accuracy.
Datteries will be replaced at this time.
This will also give us an opportunity to discuss current information.
