The package is.a ri circular.cylindiical steel weldment. A module i

absorber, with an 80-inch' outer diameter, a 54-inch inner diameter, and l

i a height of 25 inches is welded to the top puncture protection cover.

At the bottom end of the A1W-3 PUSC, a 4-inch thick steel puncture I

protection plate with a diameter of 50.5 inches is attached to the 1

l bottom of the power unit thermal shield by eight sets of U-bolts. A i

bottom energy absorber, with an 89.25-inch outer diameter, a 52.5-inch t

i inner diameter, and a height of 36 inches cover the bottom puncture I

protection plate and is attached to the thermal shield of the power unit I

with twelve 0.875-inch diameter bolts.

The support barrel, which is j

part of the power unit assembly, and a stainless steel plug / bard assembly, which extends around the outside of the support barrel, i

provide puncture protection for the sides of the power unit.

I shipping pedestal. The shipping pedestal consists of a base on which two support beams are mounted horizontally with rubber shock mounts.

have been requested or made to the package since approval of-the original-i application dated August 1980, as supplemented February 1985.

The certificate of compliance has been. conditioned to require the' packaging-to be prepared, operated, and maintained in accordance with Sections 7 and 8 of the-original application.

The certificate of compliance has been renewed for_a five year term which expires April 30, 1995.
