20555 Attnt Mr. Thomas E. Murley Ret University of Virginia's 2 MW,,3 UVAR reactor, Facility License R-66, Docket No. 50-62, LEU Fuel Conversion Schedule.
Dear Sir We were recently informed by EG&G's Idaho office (via a telephone communication) that, due to budgetary constraints, LEU fuel elements for the UVAR reactor will not be manufactured before September or October of 1991.
We have sufficient HEU fuel elements available to us to permit uninterrupted operations until that time, so the delay will not have a severe impact.
In November 1989, the University of Virginia submitted to the NRC an application to convert the UVAR reactor to LEU fuel.
The submittal included a revised SAR and also a conversion schedule.
To meet the requirements of 10 CFR 50.64 (c)(2), we would like to point out that the conversion schedule must be adjusted forward to reflect the above information.
