Program for 10 CFR,- part 71 requirenents rest with-Conam Inspection, Inc., Arnold Greene Testing-Laboratorier Division. Design and fabrication shall not be conducted under this O.A. Program. We' O.h. Program is. inplertented using the-Organizational Chart, Appendix "A". 's 1.2 Responsibilitier 1.2.1 Radiation Safety Office (R.S.O.). The R.S.O. has the respon-sibility for inplementing this program. He will assure'that-the procedures required by this manual-are prepared and: [ distributed. - Arnold:Greena Testing Laboratories A ONIT OF CON AM INSPECTION,INC. 5.0 -INSPECTICN, TEST AND OPEIRTING STA'IUS 5.1 The operable status of shipping containers shall be verified by-the_ actual survey of the container when loaded and radioactive materials. 5.2 Prior. to storage, source containers shall be tested by neasuring. the radiation levels at defined distances from the surface as stated in the Operating and Emergency Procedure. These surveys are recorded in the. daily radiation report as required by the' Operating and Emergency- .I Procedure. 5.3 Prior to release for shipping, the shipping container shall be surveyedL l as required by the shipping procedures in the Operating and Emergency Procedure. The survey results are to be entered onLshipping label. documents and reports as required by the Operating and Emergency Procedure. 'Ihe attachnent of a cenpleted shipping label-on -a shipping ' container shall represent a tag verifying the satisfactory functioning of this container. l 5.4 Non-conforming shipping containers 1 5.4.1 Non-conforming shipping containers are defined as those which i. fail the inspection and tests specified above. Non-conforming l containers shall not be used. l l' 5.4.2 Shipping containers belonging to'Conam Inspection, Inc., Arnold / Greene Testing Laboratories Division's suppliers may be used as. authorized in Conam Inspection, Inc., Arnold -Greene Testing Laboratories Division's by-product material license.- Said suppliers shall be notified if their container fails to meet the test required above. Results of atxlits will be~ maintained and reported-to'R.S.O. 7.2 Audit reports will be-evaluated and deficient areas corrected.
