SUBJECT:
PROPOSED LICENSE TO EXPORT SOURCE MATERIAL TO WEST GERMANY (XSOU8694) l On April 9,1990, NRC received a license application from Nuclear Fuel Services, Incorporated to export 966.7 kilograms of Thorium contained in 1,100 kilograms i
of Thorium Oxide welding rods for general non-nuclear end use in West Germany.
The applicant has requested expeditious processing of the license request as the material is ready for immediate shipment and is urgently needed.
The staff has concluded that the proposed export meets the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act and would not be inimical to the comon defense and security of the United States, in view of the above considerations, the staff issued the license without the normal 15-day waiting period.
