50-328 BROWNS FERRY AND SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANTS - INSURANCE STATUS On March 31, 1982, Federal Regulation 10 CFR 50.54 was amended to state that all licensees of operating nuclear units shall, by June 29, 1982, take reasonable steps to obtain onsite property damage insurance from private sources writing this coverage; and to verify, by April 1, 1983, and annually thereafter, its compliance with this nuclear property insurance requirement.
In accordance with this regulation, we have purchased onsite property damage insurance for both Sequoyah and Browns Ferry.
Enclosed for your information is the status and details of our property insurance coverage for these facilities.
