USE OF MITRE AS PART OF THE MULTI-OFFICE CONTRACT i
ORIGINATED IN THE OFFICE OF NUCLEAR REGULATORY RESEARCH(RES)
This'is in response to your March 20, 1990 memorandum requesting information on our interest in'the continued use of Mitre over the next five years to be integrated into the Statement of Work being prepared by RES. LLWMD is interested in the continued use of Mitre over the next several years.
Following are general areas where Mitre's technical assistance would be valuable to the Division.
. General technical assistance to LLOB, LLTB and LLRB
- Licensing assistance in Low-Level Waste and Uranium Recovery
]
- Financial assurance reviews to assist the regions
- RCRA / mixed waste activities
- Input to LLW regulatory guides and staff technical positions
- Assistance in evaluation of technical issues, design considerations, and alternative disposal methods associated with Agreement State review requests
