REQUEST 10COMBINEINSPECTIONPROCEDURES(IPs) 83750 and 83850 The purpose of this memo is to request that the infornation and guidance contained in low-level waste inspections procedures 83750 and 84750, and 84850 be reviewed for adequacy, revised if necessary and be combined into one inspection nodule which will provide a more clear, concise location for pertinent low-level waste guidance and information.
As discussed -in our January 10, 1990 meeting, this review would facilitate low. level waste inspections and planning in the Regions and address a Region IV comnent raised during the FY.89 National Program Review that IP 83750 and 84750 do not contain sufficient information on low. level waste inspections.
We believe that (with the exception that a lack of guidance exist for inspecting process control plans for solidification nedia) the information required at this tine for low-level. waste inspections is adequate although it is distributed between the above three inspection modules. We are prepared to offer our assistance in reviewing and revising these low-level waste inspection modules. A copy of our earlier comments on IP 83750 is enclosed for your information. Please let us know when it would be convenient to meet to discuss the information which should be included in the contined module.
