1.0 Introd:ction The Dresden Nuclear Power Station (DNPS) is a three-unit facility owned by Commonwealth Edison Company and located near Morris, Illinois. Unit 1, a General Electric Bolling Water Reactor with a design net electrical output rating of 200 megawatts electrical (MWe), is retired with all fuel removed from the reactor vessel.

Therefore, no Unit 1 operating data is provided within this report. Units 2 und 3 utilize General Electric Boiling Water Reactors and have an initial design net electrical output rating of 794 MWe. Waste heat is rejected to a man-made cooling lake using the Kankakee River for make-up and the Illinois river for blowdown. The architect-engineer for the Dresden Units was Sargent and Lundy.
