Docket No. 50-461 I
Per discussion with 0. Parr, N. Fioravante and V. Panciera, Auxiliary Systems Branch, December 2,1981, NRC and IP agreed that.that to i
close the issue of the potential rupture of a condenser circulating l
water system flexible joint, IPC wuuld insure that there were redundant (non-safety related) level sensors in the condenser pit l
and that these would alarm in the control room; would install a flood proof _ door in the turbine / auxiliary bldg wall, with an alarm in the control room if the door is opened; would flood - proof the I
other penetrations in that wall; and would ensure the ability of the l
wall to withstand the pressure of water up to the ceiling of the turbine bldg. (~731'). We also agreed to estimate the time required j
to fill the turbine bldg with water an. submit this to the NRC.
l Sincerely, W
