Dear Adninistrative Judges:
During the hearing session of Hoverber 19,1981, at Tr. 20574, Staff witness Petersen was questioned by !!r. Doherty regardina whether the long and short tern interest rates in Table 20.2 (on page 20-4) of Pr. Petersen's written testirony were stated or actual rates. Since Mr. Peterson was not sure of the answer to that question, the undersigned was requested by the Chaiman to provide Mr. Petersen's answer in a letter which will be placed in evidence (Tr. 20576).
The undersigned has conferred with I'r. Petersen, who has confimed that the assured long tern and short tem interest rates of concern to Pr. Doherty are both the actual cost to the cenpany and the stated or face arount of the interest rate.
