This letter is in response to IE Bulletin No. 81-02, Supplement 1,
dated August 18, 1981, regarding failure of gate type valves to close against differential pressure.
As a result of our review, it has been determined that none of the valves referred to in the bulletin are either in use in safety-related systems or maintained as spares at the Duane Arnold Energy Center.
Therefore, we have completed our action regarding this supplement.
As you had requested in your cover letter, we have determined that it has taken approximately 16 engineering hours to make this determination.
