Your letter of May 14, 1979 to the NRC has been brought to my attention by the Louisiana Power and Light Company.
I regret that your request for information has gone unanswered for such a long period of time.
-In your letter you list seven points which you would like to have clarified or resolved.
In the past several months, the NRC has issued three documents
'which address the impact of Waterford Unit No. 3's operation on the environment and the public health and safety. The -issues whfch you raise in your letter have been addressed in these documents. Therefore,-I am forwarding copies-L
-of the following reports for your use:
(1) the Final Environmental Statement,
'(2) the Safety Evaluation Report, and-(3) Supplement No.1 to the Safety Evaluation Report.

~ As for your concerns regarding evacuation plans, the Federal Emergency S ate' and local Management Agency (FEMA) is responsible for approving t
emergency ple.s.. However, NRC will not issue an operating license for l
Waterford 3 until FEMA has approved the State and local emergency. plans.
