Dear Sir:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the Power Authority will invoke ASME Code Case N-236 " Repair and Replacement of Class MC Vessels - Section XI, Division 1,"

for the torus modifications currently being installed at the FitzPatrick facility.

This code case will be applied with the following clarification:

For welds joining the torus to items designed, constructed and installed to the requirements of ASME Class 3, the requirements of IWC-2000 and IWC-3000 will be applied rather than IWD-2000 and IWD-3000 as indicated in the code case Sections 1.0 and 3.0 respectively.
